The handle on a door needs to be simple and elementary, easy to use and immediately comprehensible. For this project, Dominique Perrault wanted to create shapes that were reduced to minimum terms: a line drawn in space. The essentiality of Living is revealed in the interpenetration of elementary shapes attributable to the two components of the handle: the horizontal part proper, intended for the grip, and the graft of the underlying volume, used as a connection to the door surface and functioning as an axis of rotation.
